Singapore Non-oil Domestic Exports Fall the Least in a Year
Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (NODX) dropped 5.9 percent year-on-year in November 2019, following an upwardly revised 12.50 percent decline in October and in line with market consensus. It was the ninth straight month decline in NODX, but the smallest decrease since November last year, amid a rebound in sales of non-electronics products (1.3% vs -11.2% in October), of which non-primary gold (249.3%); specialised machinery (15.5%), and non-electric engines & motors (40.1%). Meantime, sales of electronics continued to fall (-23.3% vs -16.4%), including ICs (-36.5%), parts of ICs (-25.1%), and disk drivers (-35.7%). Among major trading partners, exports went down to China (-6.8%); Japan (-20.4%); Taiwan (-5.8%); Hong Kong (-27.6%); Malaysia (-4.3%); South Korea (-4.2%), and the EU (-10.0%), while increased to the US (7.3%); Thailand (7.6%), and Indonesia (0.3%).

Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (NODX) tumbled 12.30 percent year-on-year in October 2019, following an 8.1 percent slump in September and more than an expected 10.4 percent fall. It was the eighth straight month of decline in NODX and the steepest slump since June, as sales of non-electronics products fell faster (-11.0 vs -2.3% in September), of which primary chemicals (-47.3%); pharmaceuticals (-36.0%), and petrochemicals (-19.2%). Also, sales of sales of electronics continued to decline (-16.4 vs -24.8%), including ICs (-17.2%), parts of ICs (-31.3%), and telecommunications equipment (-15.7%). Among major trading partners, exports dropped to China (-21.3%); Taiwan (-23.8%); Hong Kong (-13.6%); Japan (-30.3%); Indonesia (-7.3%); Malaysia (-3.6%); the US (-3.1%); South Korea (-12.6%), and the EU (-39.6%), while increased to Thailand (1.5%).

Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (NODX) declined 8.1 percent year-on-year in September 2019, following an upwardly revised 9 percent drop in August and compared with market consensus of a 7 percent decrease. It was the seventh straight month decline in NODX and the smallest drop since November last year, as sales of electronics fell softer (-24.8% vs -25.9% in August), including ICs (-30.2%), parts of ICs (-33.1%), and disk media products (-12.2%).Meanwhile, sales of non-electronics products continued to decline (-2.3%, the same pace as in August), of which jewellery (-52.0%), pharmaceuticals (-26.7%), and petrochemicals (-10.6%). Among major trading partners, exports fell to Hong Kong (-11.9%); Japan (-19.2%); Indonesia (-5.1%); Malaysia (-10.7%); Thailand (-7.5%); the US (-10.9%); South Korea (-10.3%), and the EU (-17.3%), while increased to China (20.8%) and Taiwan (2.3%).

Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (NODX) declined 8.9 percent year-on-year in August 2019, following an upwardly revised 11.4 percent slump in July and compared with market consensus of a 12.2 percent decrease. It was the sixth straight month decline in NODX and the smallest drop since December last year, as sales of non-electronics products fell softer (-2.2% vs -6.7% in July), of which primary chemicals (-29.3%), pharmaceuticals (-23.6%), and petrochemicals (-20.8%). Meanwhile, sales of electronics continued to decrease (-25.9% vs -24.2% in July), including ICs (-32.1%), parts of ICs (-28.6%), and disk media products (-11.9%). Among major trading partners, exports fell to Hong Kong (-32.0%); Japan (-29.7%); Indonesia (-21.0%); Malaysia (-19.7%); Taiwan (-18.9%); Thailand (-16.8%); the US (-15.0%); South Korea (-2.9%), and the EU (-10.8%), while surged to China (38.5%).

Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (NODX) declined 11.2 percent year-on-year in July 2019, following an upwardly revised 17.4 percent plunge in June and compared with market consensus of a 15.2 percent decrease. It was the fifth straight month decline in NODX and the smallest drop since April, as sales of both electronics and non-electronics products fell softer. Sales of electronics tumbled 24.2 percent (vs -31.9% in June), including ICs (-24.2%), disk media products (-25.3%), and parts of ICs (-35.5%). Also, sales of non-electronics products went down (-6.6% vs -12.6% in June), of which specialised machinery (-31.3%); primary chemicals (-30.9%), and pharmaceuticals (-32.7%). Among major trading partners, exports declined to Japan (-44.2%); Malaysia (-23.3%); Hong Kong (-21.7%); Taiwan (-18.5%); Indonesia (-16.6%), China (-5.0%), Thailand (-5.2%), South Korea (-4.6%), and the EU (-2.5%), while increased to the US (12.3%).

Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (NODX) dropped 17.3 percent year-on-year in June 2019, following an upwardly revised 16.3 percent decline in May and compared with market consensus of a 9.9 percent decrease. It was the fourth straight month decline in NODX and the steepest since February 2013, as sales of both electronics and non-electronics products went down further. Sales of electronics plunged 31.9 percent (vs -31.6 pct in May), including ICs (-33.0 pct), disk media products (-41.7 pct), and parts of ICs (-44.6 pct). Also, sales of non-electronics products fell (-12.4 pct vs -11.1 pct in May), of which civil non-monetary gold (-50.2 pct); petrochemicals (-16.7 pct), and pharmaceuticals (-11.3 pct). Among major trading partners, exports declined to Hong Kong (-38.2 pct); Taiwan (-28.3 pct); Japan (-23.2 pct); South Korea (-22.7 pct); Malaysia (-18.4 pct); China (-15.8 pct); Thailand (-14.4 pct); Indonesia (-8.3 pct), and the EU (-22.1 pct); while rose to the US (1.5 pct).
