Norway Industrial Output Shrinks the Least in 3 Months
Norway's industrial production dropped 5.7 percent year-on-year in October 2019, following a 8.1 percent contraction in the previous month. This was the tenth straight month of decrease in industrial activity, but the smallest decline since July, as output of extraction & related services fell softer (-6.7 percent vs -14.5 percent in September) while electricity, gas & steam output continued to drop (-12.5 percent vs -2.1 percent). Meanwhile, manufacturing output grew further (1.9 percent from 2.9 percent), as output expanded for food, beverage and tobacco (3.6 percent vs 2.3 percent), machinery and equipment (3.2 percent vs 4.5 percent), fabricated metal products (4.9 percent vs 6.3 percent), ships, boats and oil platforms (29.6 percent vs 26.2 percent), computer and electrical equipment (2.5 percent vs 3.3 percent), and repair, installation of machinery (6.0 percent vs 7.6 percent).

Norway Industrial Output Shrinks for 9th Month
Norway's industrial production dropped 8.1 percent year-on-year in September 2019, following a 9.2 percent contraction in the previous month. This was the ninth straight month of decrease in industrial activity, as output fell for extraction & related services (-14.5 percent vs -15.5 percent in August) and electricity, gas & steam (-2.1 percent vs -3.3 percent). Meanwhile, manufacturing output growth accelerated to 2.9 percent from 1.7 percent, as output expanded for food, beverage and tobacco (2.3 percent vs -1.7 percent), machinery and equipment (4.5 percent vs 0.4 percent), fabricated metal products (6.3 percent vs 8.7 percent), ships, boats and oil platforms (26.2 percent vs 32.1 percent), computer and electrical equipment (3.3 percent vs -2.0 percent), and repair, installation of machinery (7.6 percent vs 7.9 percent).

Norway Industrial Output Falls the Most in Near 3 Years
Norway's industrial production tumbled 9.2 percent year-on-year in August 2019, following a 5.7 percent contraction in the previous month. This was the eighth straight monthly decrease in industrial activity and the steepest since September 2016, as output dropped faster for extraction & related services (-15.5 pct vs -11.1 pct in July). Also, output continued to decline for: electricity, gas & steam output (-3.3 pct vs 3.8 pct). In addition, output rose softer for: mining & quarrying (6.5 pct vs 20.0 pct). In the same time, manufacturing output growth slowed to 1.7 percent from 3.8 percent, as production rose softer for: transport equipment (3.7 pct vs 13.9 pct) and ships, boats and oil platforms (32.1 pct vs 44.1 pct). Also, output fell for rubber & plastic (-1.7 pct vs 0.6 pct), while output of basic metals decreased faster (-4.6 percent vs -1.7 percent).

Norway Industrial Output Shrinks for 7th Month
Norway's industrial production shrank 5.7 percent year-on-year in July 2019, following an 8.6 percent contraction in the previous month. This was the seventh straight monthly decrease in industrial activity, as output continued to drop for extraction & related services (-11.1 pct vs -15.2 pct in June). On the other hand, both mining & quarrying (20.0 pct vs -10.7 pct) and electricity, gas & steam output (3.8 pct vs -2.7 pct) rebounded. Also, manufacturing output growth accelerated to 3.8 percent from 3.1 percent, as production increased faster for printing & reproduction (5.3 pct vs 0.3 pct); rubber & plastic (0.6 pct vs 0.5 pct); metal products (12.2 pct vs 11 pct); transport equipment (13.9 pct vs 3.7 pct) and ships, boats and oil platforms (44.1 pct vs 39.0 pct). Also, output of refined petroleum, chemicals & pharmaceutical products shrank softer (-1.9 pct vs -8.2 pct).

Norway Industrial Output Shrinks the Most Since 2016
Norway's industrial production shrank 8.6 percent year-on-year in June 2019, following a 2.5 percent contraction in the previous month. This was the sixth straight month of decline in output and the steepest fall since September 2016, as output dropped faster for both extraction & related services (-15.2 pct vs -4.4 pct in May) and mining & quarrying (-11.1 pct vs -7.2 pct) while electricity, gas & steam output continued to fall (-2.7 pct vs -4.1 pct). In addition, manufacturing output growth eased to 3.0 percent from 5.0 percent, as production rose softer for both ships, boats and oil platforms (39.0 pct vs 45.0 pct) and machinery and equipment (6.1 pct vs 7.0 pct). Also, output shrank for food, beverage & tobacco (-2.0 pct vs 0.2 pct) while those of refined petroleum, chemicals & pharmaceutical products declined faster (-8.2 pct vs -1.9 pct). Conversely, output of computer & electrical equipment grew faster (3.9 pct vs 3.5 pct).

Norway Industrial Output Falls the Least in 10 Months
Norway's industrial production shrank 2.5 percent year-on-year in May 2019, the least since July last year, following a 4.2 percent contraction in the previous month, as output declined softer for electricity, gas & steam (-4.1 percent vs -5.4 percent in April); extraction & related services (-4.4 percent vs -7.0 percent) and mining & quarrying (-7.1 percent vs -13.6 percent). In addition, manufacturing output growth accelerated to 5.0 percent from 4.3 percent, as production went up at a faster pace for ships, boats and oil platforms (45.0 percent vs 36.3 percent) and machinery and equipment (6.9 percent vs 3.3 percent). Meantime, output growth slowed for both food, beverage & tobacco (0.2 percent vs 0.8 percent) and computer & electrical equipment (3.5 percent vs 8.3 percent) while it continued to fall for refined petroleum, chemicals & pharmaceutical products (-1.9 percent vs -1.5 percent).
