Malta Industrial Output Growth Slows to 1%
Industrial production in Malta increased 1.0 percent year-on-year in October of 2019, following an upwardly revised 5.2 percent surge in the previous month. Consumer goods output rose at a softer pace for (5.6 percent vs 12.5 percent in September), particularly durable (-3.1 percent vs 2.9 percent) and non-durable goods (6.1 percent vs 13.1 percent) while production fell for capital goods (-3.1 percent vs 6.3 percent); intermediate goods (-2.2 percent vs 1.5 percent) and energy (-0.5 percent vs -6.5 percent). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial activity fell 1.2 percent, following a 2.8 percent drop in the prior month.

Malta Industrial Output Growth Slows to 3.8%
Industrial production in Malta increased 3.8 percent year-on-year in September 2019, following an upwardly revised 7.9 percent surge in the previous month. Output rose less for consumer goods (12.2 percent vs 15.1 percent in August), of which durable (0.3 percent vs 4.8 percent) and non-durable consumer goods (12.8 percent vs 15.7 percent) as well as for capital goods (6.1 percent vs 8.7 percent). In addition, production tumbled for energy (-6.5 percent vs 0.9 percent) and intermediate goods (-3.7 percent vs 0.5 percent). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial activity fell 3.7 percent, the most since December 2018, after an upwardly revised 6.3 percent rise in the prior month.

Malta Industrial Output Growth At 9-Month High
Industrial production in Malta surged 7.4 percent year-on-year in August of 2019, following a downwardly revised 0.9 percent rise in the prior month. It was the biggest gain since November of 2018, production rebounded for energy (0.2 percent vs -4.5 percent in July) and intermediate goods (2.6 percent vs -6.6 percent). In addition, consumer goods output advanced faster (14.8 percent vs 5.9 percent), particularly durable consumer (2.0 percent vs -4.1 percent) and non-durable consumer goods (15.4 percent vs 6.5 percent). On the other hand, capital goods production went up at a softer pace (4.6 percent vs 5.7 percent). On a monthly basis, industrial output increased 5.5 percent, rebounding from a 0.8 percent drop in July.

Malta Industrial Output Rises the Least in 6 Months
Industrial production in Malta rose 1.3 percent year-on-year in July 2019, slowing from an upwardly revised 2.1 percent in the previous month. It was the smallest gain in industrial output in six months, as production of energy dropped 4.5 percent, after increasing 15.8 percent in June. Also, intermediate goods output went down 5.8 percent, following a 2.6 percent decline. On the other hand, production of consumer goods advanced 6.5 percent, rebounding from a 1.6 percent fall, mainly due to durable goods (-4 percent from -0.5 percent) while non-durable (7.3 percent from -1.7 percent). Additionally, capital goods output increased 5.3 percent, faster than a 4.6 percent rise in the prior month. On a monthly basis, industrial production fell 0.6 percent, after a 2.3 percent gain in June.

Industrial production in Malta increased 1.7 percent year-on-year in June of 2019, recovering from a downwardly revised 2.2 percent drop in the previous month. Capital goods output rebounded (2.3 percent vs -0.7 percent in May) while energy production advanced faster (15.7 percent vs 2.2 percent). In addition, consumer goods output dropped at a softer pace (-1.6 percent vs -4.7 percent), particularly durable consumer (-0.3 percent vs -4.2 percent) and non-durable consumer goods (-1.7 percent vs -4.7 percent). On the other hand, intermediate goods output fell further (-2.3 percent vs -2.0 percent). On a monthly basis, industrial output increased 1.9 percent, following a 0.9 percent rise in May.

Malta Industrial Output Falls the Most in 8 Months
Industrial production in Malta fell by 4.9 percent year-on-year in May of 2019, following a 1.8 percent drop in the previous month. It was the biggest decline in industrial activity since September of 2018, as output dropped for intermediate goods (-2.0 percent vs -0.9 percent in April) and capital goods (-1.4 percent vs 0.6 percent) while energy production slowed sharply (2.2 percent vs 29.5 percent). Meanwhile, consumer goods output fell at a softer pace (-10.9 percent vs -12.4 percent), particularly durable (-4.0 percent vs -6.3 percent) and non-durable consumer goods (-11.3 percent vs -12.8 percent). On a monthly basis, industrial output increased by 1.3 percent, rebounding from a 0.6 percent drop in April.
