Latvia Producer Prices Fall in October
Latvia's producer prices decreased by 0.2 percent year-on-year in October of 2019 compared to a 0.5 percent increase in September. It marked the first fall in producer prices since December of 2016, as manufacturing cost dropped further (-0.9 percent vs -0.1 percent in September) while prices slowed for electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (2.2 percent vs 2.4 percent) and water supply, sewerage, waste management & remediation activities (2.7 percent vs 4.2 percent). On the other hand, mining & quarrying cost advanced faster (1.2 percent vs 1.0 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices edged down 0.6 percent, following a 0.3 percent drop in the prior month.

Latvia Producer Inflation Edges Up to 0.5%
Producer prices in Latvia increased 0.5 percent year-on-year in September of 2019, following a 0.4 percent rise in the previous month. Prices advanced faster for mining & quarrying (1.0 percent vs 0.9 percent in August) and water supply, sewerage, waste management & remediation activities (4.2 percent vs 4.0 percent) while manufacturing cost declined at a softer pace (-0.1 percent vs -0.4 percent). On the other hand, electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply prices rose less (2.4 percent vs 3.4 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices edged down 0.3 percent, following a 0.1 percent drop in the prior month.

Latvia Producer Inflation at 2-1/2-Year Low
Producer prices in Latvia increased 0.4 percent year-on-year in August of 2019, easing from a 1.5 percent rise in the previous month. It was the lowest producer inflation since January of 2017, as cost slowed for electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (3.4 percent vs 7.2 percent in July); water supply, sewerage, waste management & remediation activities (4 percent vs 4.1 percent) and mining & quarrying (0.9 percent vs 1.6 percent). Also, manufacturing prices fell 0.4 percent, down from a 0.1 percent gain in July. On a monthly basis, producer prices edged down 0.1 percent, following a 0.2 percent drop in the prior month.

Producer prices in Latvia increased 1.5 percent year-on-year in July of 2019, easing from a 2.5 percent rise in the previous month. It was the lowest producer inflation since February of 2017, as cost slowed for manufacturing (0.1 percent from 0.7 percent in June); electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (7.2 percent from 9.4 percent); water supply, sewerage, waste management & remediation activities (4.1 percent from 9.9 percent) and mining & quarrying (1.6 percent from 2.2 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices decreased 0.2 percent, down from a 0.4 percent gain in June.

Latvia Producer Inflation Slows to Near 2-Year Low
Producer prices in Latvia increased 2.5 percent year-on-year in June of 2019, easing from a 3.1 percent rise in the previous month. It was the lowest producer inflation since April of 2017, as cost slowed for manufacturing (0.7 percent from 1.7 percent in May), mining & quarrying (2.2 percent from 3.5 percent) and water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (9.9 percent from 10.8 percent). On the other hand, prices advanced further for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (9.4 percent from 7.9 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices went up 0.4 percent, up from a 0.6 percent fall in May.

Producer prices in Latvia increased 3.1 percent year-on-year in May of 2019, easing from a 3.8 percent rise in the previous month. It was the lowest producer inflation since December of 2017, as cost slowed for manufacturing (1.7 percent from 2.6 percent in April); electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (7.9 percent from 8 percent) and water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (10.8 percent from 11.5 percent). On the other hand, prices advanced faster for mining and quarrying (3.5 percent from 3.4 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices decreased 0.6 percent, down from a 0.4 percent gain in April.
