Czech Industrial Output Falls for 3rd Month
Industrial production in the Czech Republic fell 0.4 percent year-on-year in October 2019, following an upwardly revised 0.9 percent decline in the previous month and compared with market expectations of a flat reading. Output dropped less for mining & quarrying (-7.3 percent compared to -10.5 percent in September). Meanwhile, production of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply went down (-3.8 percent compared to 0.9 percent) and manufacturing output continued to fall (at -0.7 percent). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production declined 0.1 percent, after an upwardly revised 1.1 percent gain in the prior month.

Czech Industrial Output Falls Less than Expected
Industrial production in the Czech Republic dropped 0.6 percent year-on-year in September 2019, following a 1.2 percent fall in the previous month and compared to market consensus of a 1 percent decline. Output went down at a softer pace for mining & quarrying (-0.2 percent compared to -3.2 percent in August); manufacturing (-0.3 percent compared to -1 percent) and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-0.1 percent compared to -1.8 percent). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production rose 0.8 percent, after an upwardly revised 0.2 percent gain in the prior month.

Czech Industrial Output Shrinks in August
Industrial production in the Czech Republic fell 1.2 percent year-on-year in August 2019, following a 0.1 percent rise in the previous month and less than an expected 2 percent decline. Output fell in all categories: mining & quarrying (-3.2 percent vs -9.6 percent in July); manufacturing (-1 percent vs 1.8 percent) and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-1.8 percent vs 12 percent). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production decreased 0.1 percent, after rising 0.7 percent in the previous month.

Czech Industrial Output Rises the Most in 9 Months
Industrial production in Czech Republic rose 5.6 percent year-on-year in July of 2019, recovering from a downwardly 6 percent slump in the previous month and above market expectations of a 2.5 percent increase. It was the highest gain in industrial activity since October of 2018, as output rebounded sharply for manufacturing (8 percent vs -5.8 percent in June). Meantime, production continued to fall for both electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (-12 percent vs -6.8 percent) and mining & quarrying (-6.4 percent vs -12.4 percent). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output went up 0.7 percent, rebounding from a 2.8 percent fall in June.

Czech Industrial Output Posts Biggest Fall Since 2016
Industrial production in Czech Republic declined 3.8 percent year-on-year in June of 2019, following a 3.2 percent gain in the previous month and worse than market expectations of a 2.0 percent fall. It was the biggest drop since July of 2016 as, output fell for manufacturing (-3.4 percent vs 3.1 percent in May), particularly manufacture of fabricated metal products (-5.9 percent vs 1.0 percent) and motor vehicles, trailers & semi-trailers (-3.9 percent vs 6.9 percent); electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (-6.5 percent vs 6.1 percent) and mining & quarrying (-10.8 percent vs -6.1 percent). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output dropped 2.8 percent, after increasing 1.2 percent in May.

Czech Industrial Output Rises More than Expected
Industrial production in the Czech Republic increased 3.2 percent year-on-year in May 2019, following a 3.3 percent increase in the previous month and well above market expectations of 1 percent. Motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers contributed the most to growth, followed by rubber and plastic products, and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply. By contrast, declines were seen in beverages, machinery and equipment, and mining and quarrying. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production rose 1.1 percent in May, after a 0.8 percent gain in April.
